2008 Summer SocialThe 2008 Summer Social will be held on Sunday June 1 from 4pm to 8pm at the home of former Department Editor Tom Snider and his wife, Kathie at 1022 Barberry Lane in Columbus. All alums and their families are welcome. We'll fire up the grill at at 4:30 and while away the summer evening eating and catching up with one another. Just bring your libation of choice, lawn chairs, a side dish if you can - and we'll provide the main dishes. Mission Statement
The Ohio State University Department of Photography and Cinema Alumni Society is a consituent society of The Ohio State University Alumni Society representing alumni of the Department of Photography and Cinema as well as film and photography professionals and enthusiasts. We promote photography, cinema, video and other forms of media through fellowship, dialogue and public education.

Ardine Nelson and Fred Marsh have each been named Guggenheim fellows for 2008 by the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.

"The Horrors of War" has been released on DVD. The film was co-directed by John Whitney, co-shot by Scott Spears with and Gil Whitney as Gaffer and featured Chip Kicel acting as a war weary soldier.
Jay Woelfel's (BA' 85) first film, Beyond Dreams Door is rereleased on special edition DVD.
