Latest NewsJanet Parrott (MA ’92) has been recognized with a Distinguished Teaching Award for her work as an Assistant Professor with film students in the OSU Theatre Department. Congratulations to Jack Sekowski (BA ‘84) whose screenplay Babe Approved won third place in the comedy category at The Movie Deal screenwriting competition! Late last year, Sam Nahem (MA ‘82) announced the broadcast premiere of his latest film, Beyond the Fence: Memories of Buchenwald. The one-hour documentary examines the liberation of Buchenwald through the eyes of survivors and soldiers. For more information, go to Sam’s website at www.screen-play.org. John Whitney held the first public screening of his new film, Measured Sacrifice, for a home crowd at The Screens theatre as part of the Cowtown Film Series in October. Ardine Nelson (staff) and Fred Marsh (BFA '80)have each been named Guggenheim fellows for 2008 by the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. Mike Adams (MA ' 73) is just back from teaching a photo class in Shanghai. His students' work can be seen at www.trft.org/chinaphotoclass. "The Horrors of War" has been released on DVD. The film was co-directed by John Whitney, co-shot by Scott Spears with and Gil Whitney as Gaffer and featured Chip Kocel acting as a war weary soldier.
