2009 Annual Meeting

The 2009 OSU Photography and Cinema Alumni Society will be holding its annual meeting on Sunday December 13, 2009 11:00am to 2:00pm at Mac’s Cafe, 693 N. High Street in the Short North. All Alumni are welcome.  Everyone will be able to choose their brunch/lunch items from the menu.  We’ll hold the meeting after the meal at about 12:30.

Directions: Mac’s Cafe is in the Short North on the west side of High Street between Lincoln and Buttles a few blocks north of I-670.  There is a parking lot with meters just north of the building.  Additional parking is available in the area but there should be plenty of room in the lot. Mission Statement

The Ohio State University Department of Photography and Cinema Alumni Society is a consituent society of The Ohio State University Alumni Society representing alumni of the Department of Photography and Cinema as well as film and photography professionals and enthusiasts. We promote photography, cinema, video and other forms of media through fellowship, dialogue and public education.

Prof Bob Wagner (faculty) received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the University Flm and Video Association and the University FIlm and Video Foundation.

After seven years and eleven trips to Germany, Fredrik Marsh (BFA '80) has finally realized the publication of Transitions: The Dresden Project. Published to coincide with his exhibition in Dresden (and also marking the 20th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall), the book includes over 70 reproductions in black & white and color with essays by noted photo historians from the US and Germany. Janet Parrott (MA ’92) has been recognized with a Distinguished Teaching Award for her work as an Assistant Professor with film students in the OSU Theatre Department.

Congratulations to Jack Sekowski (BA ‘84) whose screenplay Babe Approved won third place in the comedy category at The Movie Deal screenwriting competition!
